It is a common sight that youth show a lot of interest in taking selfies with celebrities like film stars and even sportspersons like cricketers and badminton players.
Gone are the days of requesting celebrities for an autographs and people have become crazy for selfies with celebrities.
However, they hardly show interest in taking photographs, let alone selfies, with political leaders, unless they are big people like chief minister or a national leader.
As of now, the only politician in the Telugu states who has become a celebrity for the youth showing interest in taking selfies with him is Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao, who has popularised this craze among the youth for selfies.
And if the politician is senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, one can expect slap on the face, rather than selfies.
But, it looks like YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has been able to generate a lot of craze among the people, especially youth.
It was evident from the way more and more youth are evincing interest in taking selfies with Jagan during his ongoing padayatra, which commenced on November 6.
Not a single day passes without Jagan obliging to the requests of the people, particularly students and youth, to have selfies with them. And he has become in expert in taking selfies these days.
No wonder, Jagan is gradually emerging as a celebrity youth icon in Andhra politics!
