Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan seems tough towards Andhra Pradesh government. He rejected for second time the government’s request to accept the amendment proposed in the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural Land (Conversion for Non-agriculture Purposes) Act, 2006, known as NALA Act, 2006 or the Land Conversion Act.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu brought some changes in the NALA Act for the conversion of agricultural lands in view of increased land demand with the sudden spurt in reality trade in Andhra.
Government forwarded the amendment bill to Raj Bhavan for the Governor’s nod six months ago. He sent back the bill to government seeking some clarifications. After receiving clarifications, Narasimhan turned down to approve on technical grounds for second time.
The revenue officials informed Chandrababu about the situaiton. The CM is likely to pursue the issue personally with Governor after Sankranthi festival.
